This application does not work. I downloaded it this morning to my Windows 10 Toshiba laptop. It does not show up as an option when I right-click on image files and when I ‘launch’ the app I just get an error message with a hex code. Now looking for a different HEIC converter solution.
I have windows 10 pro 64 bit machine, I downloaded HEIC Image Converter two weeks ago. I can view an HEIC file but there is no convert option. Is there an update or a fix?
If you’re after JPG to HEIC conversion (ie. to save storage space), this is actually pretty bad – I purchased the app via the Windows Store and tried to convert a batch of 6 jpeg images (total size: 533KB, 96dpi, 24bit) To HEIC (using the default settings), and the resulting images were BIGGER than the original jpg files (and their bit depth was actually increased to 32bit)!
1) HEIC files which have been edited on the iPhone (using the standard Photos App) cannot be converted. The HEIC Image Converter status shows “Error” at 33% progress.
2) The output files (in any format) are heavily clipped in both the shadows and highlights. This is useless.
3) The HEIC output files are corrupt. They cannot be read by other HEIC tools, and HEIC Image Converter itself produces garbage when it converts them to another format.
Software
iPhone 7 Plus IOS 12
Windows 7 64-bit
HEIC Image Converter bought from your website 2018.11.04
Can you add some screenshots somewhere?
I need to know if it supports writing 16bpp colour HEIF.
Will it convert 16bpp colour TIFFs to 16bpp HEIF accurately?
Does it support Adobe98 and SRGB?
Does it support Gamma Grey 2.2 with black and white 16bpp TIFFs to 16bpp HEIF?
Is the compression quality adjustable?
Why not make this a Photoshop plugin?

Thanks for your feedback. The problem happened with the Windows Store version of the app on x86 systems and has been fixed.

Hi,
You can either drag&drop images into the converter or use the “Add images” button.
Please drop me an email if you have further questions.

Sous Mac 10.14 impossible de faire fonctionner cette application. La documentation est inexistante. J’ai payé pour rien. Avis aux amateurs !
Keeps crashing when converting more than 10 images(TIFF)
Thank you for the nice app.
I have converted on mac. but i can’t setup Exif tool.
Should I download MacOS Package?
Please tell me how.
From Japan.
Hi,
Please download the macOS package from https://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/. After extraction/installation of the package you find a binary named “exiftool”.
